Role Overview

Turn growth strategies into configurable, launch-ready, and measurable in-app initiatives. This role owns the optimization of the new-user activation journey, from download and sign-up through the first AI interaction, first lesson completion, and trial conversion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop monthly growth operations plans across the full activation funnel: Download → Sign-up → First AI Interaction → First Lesson Completion → Trial → Subscription, with clear targets, owners, launch timelines, and success criteria for each stage.
  • Translate onboarding, user profiling, first-lesson experience, learning reports, trial entry points, benefit messaging, and in-app reminders into actionable configuration requirements. Partner with Engineering, Design, and Data teams on pre-launch QA, phased rollouts, and rollback plans.
  • Build and maintain a structured growth experimentation pipeline, covering hypotheses, target audiences, control groups, variant design, sample-size thresholds, guardrail metrics, launch schedules, result analysis, and scale/iterate/stop recommendations.
  • Analyze funnels and cohorts by country, language, acquisition channel, device, learning stage, and subscription status. Identify friction or anomalies across registration, activation, first lesson, trial, and pre-payment stages, and translate insights into executable experiments or operational improvements.
  • Partner with the Subscription & Monetization Product Manager to implement in-app configurations and experiments related to paywalls, subscription plans, benefits, and payment flows, including copy variants, traffic allocation, and experiment tracking. This role does not independently own pricing, refund policies, or payment compliance.
  • Work closely with Growth Product Operations – Paid Conversion & User Lifecycle to connect new-user activation with trial reminders, incomplete first-lesson journeys, dormant-user reactivation, and pre-renewal engagement. This role owns trigger logic, in-product entry points, and experiment validation, while Lifecycle Operations owns ongoing user journeys and communication cadence.
  • Consolidate insights from App Store reviews, customer support tickets, social media comments, user interviews, and local market teams, categorize them into funnel, content, product, or payment issues, and drive the relevant teams toward resolution.
  • Maintain experiment logs, tracking/event dictionaries, configuration change records, release QA checklists, and post-launch review templates. Build scalable Activation & Trial Operations SOPs that can be replicated across new markets.
  • Collaborate with Paid Acquisition, ASO/ASA, regional influencer teams, and Channel Strategy Operations to evaluate user quality by acquisition source—looking beyond downloads to first AI interaction, trial conversion, subscription, and retention quality.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Growth Operations, Product Operations, Activation, Lifecycle, or Growth roles within consumer apps, EdTech, subscription products, fintech, or content platforms.
  • Hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: onboarding, activation, first purchase, free trial, paywall optimization, CRM engagement, or new-user conversion. You should be able to demonstrate actual launches, experiment results, or post-launch reviews.
  • Strong ability to translate funnel problems into concrete operational actions and experiment designs. Familiar with audience segmentation, traffic allocation, control groups, sample-size considerations, guardrail metrics, and experiment evaluation—not simply requirements collection or campaign copywriting.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one App analytics, growth, or operations platform, such as Firebase, GA4, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Looker, Braze, CleverTap, MoEngage, RevenueCat, Adapty, Superwall, remote configuration tools, or equivalent platforms.
  • Comfortable analyzing funnels, cohorts, retention, Trial-to-Subscription conversion, refunds, renewals, and acquisition-source quality. SQL skills or the ability to independently retrieve basic data through BI tools is a plus.
  • Experience working across multiple countries, languages, localization environments, or international user bases is preferred. Professional working proficiency in English is required for collaboration with teams in Singapore, Johor Bahru, and other regional markets.
  • Comfortable operating in a high-velocity environment with frequent releases, experimentation, failed tests, and cross-functional dependencies. Strong ownership mindset with accountability for business outcomes—not just documentation or task delivery.
