Polygence Overview

High school students spend over 4,000 hours being lectured at, despite overwhelming evidence that students learn best through project-based learning. Polygence is an online marketplace for intellectual passion projects that was built with a singular focus on helping students rediscover the joy of learning through personalized projects supervised by academic mentors.

Polygence’s rapid growth has been driven by a top-notch team of entrepreneurs, engineers, researchers and educators united by an uncompromising mission to reshape education around the globe by making it project-focused. At Polygence, the ultimate surge of adrenaline comes from hearing our students rave about their learning experience and describe its life-changing impact.

Position Overview

Polygence is hiring a partnerships manager focused on finding and bringing on partners who drive our student enrollments. Leveraging tactics used in email and affiliate marketing and business development, you will massively grow our outreach efforts and bring on the right partners (academic advisors and education institutions), nurturing and engaging those partners in the early days of partnership to drive student enrollments. You will massively increase the number of referrals our product gets and drive access to the future of meaningful project-based learning and research opportunities for students across the world.

You will work closely with our Director of Partnerships and an inbound-focused partnership colleague to manage email marketing efforts, grow our partnerships funnel, build new relationships with partners, and support those partners’ B2C efforts. Owning a KPI of outbound lead generation, you will prospect, attract, close, and onboard to the platform and get these partners enrolling their first students. You will also contribute significantly to our strategy around partner acquisition and work with the Director of Partnerships to experiment, refine, and professionalize acquisition and retention strategies.

In the first 3 months, you will…

  • Create an individual strategy to reach out to counselors and increase student enrollment
  • Support marketing efforts to counselors.
  • Support strategies oriented towards new channels of partnerships such as schools.
  • Be a consistent, empathetic and informed representative of the company to the creator community.

In your first 6 months, you will…

  • Take calls with inbound counselors
  • Double the number of our partner companies (IEC companies) and improve conversion and referral rates for these counselors
  • Develop nurture/ engagement series for counselors who aren’t delivering to encourage them to make the first referral

In your first year, you will…

  • Establish a book of business with net new partners and support our partner acquisition efforts.
  • Support the growth of the partnerships channel in a meaningful way.
  • Represent Polygence externally at 3-4 conferences.

You will thrive in this role if you...

  • Have a strong marketing, partnerships, or sales background.
  • Have experience working in schools or in the broader supplemental education services industry.
  • Are very excited by experimentation, unafraid of failure or roadblocks.
  • Are very creative and like to think creatively/outside the box.
  • Have a passion for sales and business development.
  • Understand the needs of creatives, counselors, and students and can translate their needs and Polygence’s feature offering.
  • Can exceed revenue and sales goals using both strategic and tactical efforts.
  • Are curious about how things work and finding ways to do things better, more efficiently.
  • Are motivated to create impact and learn, while not being afraid to share your opinions, and lead with autonomy and limited oversight.
  • Self-motivated in a high-growth, rapidly changing environment.
  • Think bigger about how to scale and duplicate an organization's efforts.
  • Value and obtain actionable feedback.
  • Write compelling email copy and have optimized mass outreach before.
  • Share our mission to empower our team and counselors to deliver highly engaging learning experiences to greater audiences.
