Learn Capital is seeking a self-motivated Associate to join our Business Development & Operations team. The Associate will gain significant exposure to venture capital and education technology and will be an integral part of the team. The role entails working with members of the team across a broad range of functions from investor relations to strategic projects to fund support. This role is ideal for an early-career professional who has a flair for producing polished, well-designed deliverables and who is comfortable with taking initiative, often amidst significant project ambiguity. The Associate will establish a strong foundation for a future career in edtech, venture capital, business development, or investor relations. There is the opportunity for the right candidate to support the investment team with research and due diligence.

Note: our office is based in the Bay Area, however, we are open to this position being remote (PDT hours expected).

Responsibilities Will Include: •Create/manage well-written and polished materials for LP communication, including quarterly updates, investor presentations, and annual general meetings •Support the creation of investment and portfolio support deliverables (i.e., investment memos, conference presentations, fundraising presentations, etc.) •Maintain and update the internal portfolio database of all our existing and prospective investments •Maintain and update fund marketing materials and portfolio company presentations as appropriate •Conduct market and competitive research and help draft and publish thought leadership as appropriate •Assist in the fundraising process and coordinate communication with LPs •Complete additional ad-hoc fund support, strategic planning, and portfolio support projects as needs arise. Take initiative to work on business development projects for the fund and/or portfolio companies

As a member of the Business Development & Operations team, you will have an opportunity to gain exposure to different aspects of running a VC fund and are expected to participate in all full partnership meetings.

Ideal Candidates Should Possess: •Clear communication and impeccable writing skills (i.e., previous editor for your school newspaper, manages a personal blog, etc.) •Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and comfort with processing common company deliverables (i.e., pitch presentations, financial statements, metrics, etc.) •A veritable self-starter who can seamlessly operate in a high-autonomy environment, along with a preference for working in a small team environment •High level of energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to success (i.e., you follow through on your projects) •Resourceful and ability to learn quickly •Strong organizational skills and ability to work across different projects with different stakeholders •At least 2 years of work experience in management consulting, investment banking, investor relations, or at a technology company/startup in business development or fundraising capacity. Interest and/or experience in edtech preferred.
