HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Manufacturing Systems Integration Contract Engineer to support the development, integration, and optimization of manufacturing systems across production environments.
In this role, you’ll work closely with manufacturing, automation, and software teams to develop and maintain SCADA-based solutions supporting plant floor operations. You’ll help integrate manufacturing systems, improve operational workflows, and provide hands-on support for production systems across multiple Bay Area facilities.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, collaborative, customer-focused, and experienced working within fast-paced manufacturing environments.
As a Manufacturing Systems Integration Contract Engineer, you'll:
As a Manufacturing Systems Integration Contract Engineer, you'll:
- Develop and maintain SCADA solutions using the Inductive Automation Ignition platform, including both Vision and Perspective modules.
- Provide hands-on manufacturing plant floor support for operational systems, troubleshooting, and integration activities.
- Support integration between Ignition systems, PLCs, and Kepware OPC UA servers.
- Assist with integrations between Ignition and SAP ME/MII manufacturing systems.
- Develop and support web service integrations and manufacturing system connectivity workflows.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, automation, and software teams to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Support onsite manufacturing and integration activities across Bay Area facilities, with occasional domestic travel as needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience supporting SCADA systems within manufacturing environments, including requirements analysis, software development, system integration, and implementation
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Inductive Automation Ignition platform, including Vision and Perspective module development
- Strong programming skills using Python, Java, or similar high-level programming languages
- Experience developing complex database queries and manufacturing system integrations
- Familiarity with OPC UA, Kepware, PLC integrations, and industrial communication protocols
- Understanding of manufacturing systems and plant floor operational processes
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environments
- Ability to travel domestically as needed
- This role will require safety boots that conform to ASTM F2412 / F2413 requirements
Bonus Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline
- Experience supporting automotive manufacturing or production environments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing system architectures and industrial automation environments
- Experience supporting MES, SCADA, or factory automation initiatives within large-scale production operations
