Job description

HireArt is helping our client find a Forklift Operator to join their Longueuil team.

In this role, you’ll support warehouse, inventory, shipping, and receiving operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will help ensure materials are accurately received, organized, tracked, and prepared for production and customer shipments while supporting overall warehouse efficiency and inventory accuracy.

The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing setting.

As a Forklift Operator, you'll:
  • Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts to support daily warehouse operations.
  • Receive, inspect, identify, label, and store incoming materials and parts.
  • Pick and prepare parts and materials for manufacturing based on BOM requirements.
  • Prepare customer shipments and support shipping and receiving activities.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through FIFO/MSD rotation practices, cycle counts, and annual physical inventories.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and update inventory management systems accordingly.
  • Optimize warehouse organization, storage layouts, and material flow processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support defective material return processes and maintain organized storage facilities.
  • Participate in warehouse process improvements, policy implementation, and general operational support activities.
  • Perform additional warehouse-related duties as needed based on business demands.

Requirements

  • A Secondary School Diploma (SSD) is required; an Attestation of College Studies (ACS) in inventory management is considered an asset
  • 3+ years of warehouse experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Valid forklift certification with strong forklift operating experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety practices
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and warehouse processes
  • Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic mental math calculations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable working in evolving, fast-paced environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French; English is considered an asset

Commitment: This is a full-time, 3-month contract position staffed via HireArt. The role is onsite and available to candidates local to the Longueuil, Quebec, Canada area.
