Job description
HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a System Integration Engineer to support the development and integration of body domain systems for next-generation autonomous vehicles.
In this role, you’ll drive system requirements, functional architecture, integration, and verification activities to deliver end-to-end system capability across body systems. You’ll collaborate closely with vehicle integration, feature integration, firmware, and component development teams to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of cutting-edge autonomous vehicle platforms.
The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative systems engineer with deep automotive systems knowledge, strong integration experience, and the ability to lead complex cross-functional technical initiatives.
As a System Integration Engineer, you'll:
As a System Integration Engineer, you'll:
- Lead the integration and development of body systems and controls for autonomous vehicle platforms.
- Define and develop system architectures, technical specifications, and interface requirements.
- Develop system design and integration test plans to ensure performance, safety, efficiency, and reliability across systems such as lighting, closures, passive entry, and instrument clusters.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and vehicle integration teams to define and validate system requirements.
- Ensure subsystem designs fulfill functional requirements and interface expectations.
- Participate in technical reviews and supplier evaluations, ensuring verification and validation (V&V) requirements are captured and executed.
- Develop system FMEAs, diagnostic strategies, and fault reaction plans to support safe vehicle operation.
- Lead issue triage activities, including log reviews, code analysis, and hardware investigations.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, preferably within automotive or EV environments
- Strong system-level understanding of automotive body systems, including closures, lighting, passive entry, and instrument clusters
- Familiarity with power management requirements, vehicle network architectures, and power electronics within EV platforms
- Strong understanding of sensor and actuator technologies used in body control systems
- Deep knowledge of automotive system development using model-based engineering processes
- Experience developing electrical system and subsystem requirements using tools such as IBM DOORS, Siemens Polarion, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of automotive electrical architectures and communication protocols, including CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
- Experience defining physical and functional interfaces across vehicle systems
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics (UDS) and functional safety standards such as ISO 26262
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional communication skills
- This role will require safety boots that conform to ASTM F2412 / F2413 requirements
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with ISO 26262 functional safety processes
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Design methodologies
- Experience with real-time embedded software architectures such as AUTOSAR
- Familiarity with advanced embedded software environments such as Linux
