HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Materials Specialist to support warehouse, inventory, and material operations.
In this role, you’ll manage material flow across receiving, inspection, inventory control, and fulfillment to ensure accurate and efficient operations that support production and quality teams.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
As a Materials Specialist, you'll:
As a Materials Specialist, you'll:
- Manage return merchandise transactions, including receiving, restocking, and put-away processes.
- Maintain and control inventory, including QA hold and return materials.
- Perform warehouse and fulfillment operations, including receiving, inspection, inventory management, order processing, and cycle counts.
- Conduct incoming inspections (physical, visual, and documentation verification).
- Partner with production and engineering teams to resolve material discrepancies and issues.
- Support inventory analysis, reporting, and material planning efforts.
- Manage parts pending repair or disposition and track pending material orders based on priority.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of inventory locations, receiving dock, and warehouse areas.
- Handle internal transfers, shipping, receiving, and delivery of materials to production lines.
- Perform cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and triage materials for rework, return, or scrap.
- Execute MRP transactions, including work order creation and inventory movements.
- Ensure accuracy of quality documentation for all shipments.
- Troubleshoot material flow issues and drive process improvements.
- Report on inventory levels, throughput, and overall material status.
Requirements
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to make effective decisions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Team-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Experience with RMA, procurement, or return-to-vendor processes preferred
- 4+ years of warehouse or inventory experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull over 25 lbs
- Ability to stoop, kneel, climb, and balance as needed
