Job description
HireArt is helping our client find a Torque Technician to support the configuration, installation, validation, and troubleshooting of torque-controlled tools and fastened joint systems across manufacturing and assembly operations.
In this role, you’ll ensure fastening processes meet engineering specifications, torque-angle requirements, joint integrity standards, and quality control expectations. Your work will directly support product performance, functional safety, traceability, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and experienced in mechanical fastening within a manufacturing environment.
As a Torque Technician, you'll:
As a Torque Technician, you'll:
- Maintain calibration and proper care of torque tools and fastening equipment.
- Perform in-process and final inspections of fastened joints, including residual torque checks and periodic tool inspections.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Vehicle Engineering teams to support joint testing, validation, and installation trials.
- Identify and resolve fastening issues such as cross-threading, under/over-torque, galling, and joint loosening.
- Accurately document fastening data, inspection results, and nonconformances in manufacturing and quality systems.
- Support corrective and preventive actions related to fastener or joint failures.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to improve fastening processes and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4+ years years of experience in automotive manufacturing, assembly, or mechanical fastening
- Knowledge of bolted joints and fastener basics
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, torque specifications, and basic engineering drawings
- Experience using manual and powered torque tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Atlas Copko torque tools and systems.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and non-conformance reporting.
- Experience in the electric vehicle or autonomous vehicle industry.
- Proficiency with common computer applications (e.g., Google Workspace) for documentation and reporting
