Job description
HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Network Test Automation Engineer (Ethernet Systems DV) to build and maintain automation frameworks for validating Ethernet-connected sensor networks on an autonomous vehicle platform.
In this role, you’ll partner with Systems, Integration, Software, and Sensor teams to develop scalable network validation solutions that ensure performance, reliability, and compliance across complex distributed systems.
The ideal candidate is a strong automation engineer with deep networking expertise and experience building test frameworks in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or system validation environments.
As a Network Test Automation Engineer (Ethernet Systems DV), you'll:
As a Network Test Automation Engineer (Ethernet Systems DV), you'll:

- Develop PCAP/tcpdump tooling and fault-injection scripts to validate protocols such as ARP and ICMP, and failure recovery scenarios (e.g., link loss, and FCS errors).
- Configure and manage VLAN-segmented (802.1Q) network topologies across bench and HIL test environments, including integration with power supplies, DAQ systems, and relay controls.
- Validate interoperability between network switches and sensors, ensuring compliance with security and PPAP standards for Ethernet ECUs.
- Own and maintain technical documentation for test frameworks, methodologies, and system configurations.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of relevant experience in network testing, validation, or automation
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including the OSI model, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, SNMP, and VLAN (802.1Q) configuration
- Advanced Python and Bash scripting skills, with experience building automation frameworks (e.g., PyTest)
- Proficiency with network diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, iPerf, tcpdump, traceroute, and ethtool
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, including debugging across the full OSI stack
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with DoIP and UDS over IP
- Familiarity with automotive Ethernet standards (e.g., 100BASE-T1, BroadR-Reach, H-MTD/FAKRA connectors)
- Experience with time synchronization protocols (e.g., IEEE 1588v2/PTP, 802.1AS)
- Advanced Linux networking and HIL infrastructure experience (e.g., DAQ systems, relay-controlled power rails)
Benefits:
- Pre-tax commuter benefits
- Employer (HireArt) subsidized healthcare benefits (eligibility begins on the first of the month following 60 days of service)
- Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
- HireArt covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
