In this role, you’ll translate complex business needs into engaging, effective learning solutions in partnership with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders. You’ll design and deliver impactful training programs that enable teams to operate and service products efficiently and at scale.

The ideal candidate is an experienced instructional designer with a strong foundation in adult learning principles, a sharp eye for content quality, and the ability to create scalable, high-impact learning experiences.

A portfolio of instructional design work samples is required for this role. Please include examples that demonstrate your approach to content design, learner experience, and instructional strategy.

As an Instructional Designer, you'll:
  • Design and develop learning content aligned with instructional design best practices and business objectives.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to create blended learning experiences, including instructor-led (ILT), virtual (vILT), and eLearning solutions.
  • Develop interactive and engaging digital learning content using modern authoring tools, with a focus on clarity, structure, and learner experience.
  • Update and enhance existing training materials to improve engagement, effectiveness, and SCORM compliance.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and implement iterative improvements to drive measurable learning outcomes.
  • Create content that aligns with brand standards, style guides, and instructional consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline content development processes and improve production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders, including product experts, service teams, and program managers, to align training with operational priorities.
  • Facilitate planning sessions and translate stakeholder input into clear instructional strategies and deliverables.
  • Travel up to 15% as needed to support training initiatives across business locations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field
  • 6+ years of instructional design experience, with a focus on blended learning (ILT, vILT, and eLearning)
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Proven ability to design structured, engaging learning experiences and instructional flows
  • Experience developing learning evaluation strategies and measuring training effectiveness
  • Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise, Storyline), Camtasia, Vyond, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, evolving environments with minimal oversight
  • Strong writing, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • A portfolio of instructional design work samples

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting operations or technical training environments
  • Experience in autonomous vehicles or similar complex systems training

Benefits:
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) Subsidized healthcare benefits (eligibility begins on the first of the month following 60 days of service)
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Foster City, CA area.
