Job description
HireArt is helping our client find an Interiors Engineer to lead the design, release, and launch of interior systems for an autonomous vehicle platform. You will play a key role in delivering world-class interiors that balance form, function, and durability.
In this role, you’ll work on core interior components such as hard trim, headliner systems, insulators, pillar trims, and floor systems, ensuring seamless integration across the vehicle.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative mechanical engineer with solid experience in automotive interior systems, strong design ownership, and a track record of bringing products from concept through production.
As an Interiors Engineer, you'll:
As an Interiors Engineer, you'll:
- Own the design and release of interior components and subsystems using CATIA V6, translating system requirements into production-ready designs in collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.
- Partner closely with the design studio to balance aesthetics, functionality, and cost through iterative development.
- Work cross-functionally with vehicle engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet standards for durability, reliability, and fit and finish.
- Review and apply CAE simulation results to optimize product performance.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including DFMEAs and DVP&Rs, to support validation and quality processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain, to support new vehicle launches and sustain existing fleet performance.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 7+ years of experience in automotive interior trim engineering
- Proven experience developing OEM or Tier 1 interior trim programs from concept through production launch, including hands-on launch support
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (CATIA V5 or equivalent) with a strong understanding of design for manufacturing principles
- Experience with technical documentation processes, including DVP&Rs and DFMEAs, within at least one full vehicle lifecycle program
- Experience managing technical suppliers and project timelines to deliver under tight constraints
