Job description
HireArt is helping our client find a Firmware Validation Engineer (Brake & Steering) to lead brake and steering controls validation in partnership with Tier 1 suppliers.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to validate and release control firmware for brake and steering systems. You will drive system specifications, support failure analysis, execute validation plans, and ensure firmware releases meet performance, safety, and program milestones.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong experience in automotive controls, firmware validation, and supplier collaboration. You are comfortable working across hardware, software, and systems to debug complex issues and drive solutions.

As a Firmware Validation Engineer, you'll:
- Develop and maintain brake and steering subsystem technical specifications in collaboration with suppliers and internal engineering teams.
- Contribute to the development of diagnostic scripts and validation tools.
- Partner with suppliers to define and execute test plans, validate firmware updates, and perform regression testing to meet program timelines.
- Lead resolution of supplier firmware defects, including impact assessments in collaboration with system architecture and design teams.
- Support the development and execution of validation strategies, including HIL testing and other test methodologies.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering teams to ensure alignment across system design, validation, and release milestones.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in automotive or a similar industry
- Proven experience debugging complex, multi-domain issues across hardware, software, and firmware
- Experience with automotive actuator controls and validation methods (brake and/or steering systems preferred)
- Experience developing and operating HIL test environments and validation frameworks
- Strong understanding of automotive development processes, release cycles, and program planning
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience working at an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier supporting brake or steering control systems
- Experience with tools such as CANalyzer, dSPACE, Polarion, Jira, or Confluence
