Job description

HireArt is helping our client find Shift Supervisors to lead a team of Vehicle Operators (VOs), ensuring they understand and execute both short- and long-term operational goals.

In this role, you’ll be a hands-on leader, working alongside your team daily to ensure all software and hardware tests are executed to high standards. You will collaborate closely with other leaders within fleet operations to safely and efficiently drive day-to-day vehicle fleet operations.

The ideal candidate is a disciplined team player with a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and team development.

Available Shifts:
Wednesday-Sunday, 6:45 AM-3:15 PM or 3:45 PM-12:15 AM
Friday-Tuesday, 6:45 AM-3:15 PM or 3:45 PM-12:15 AM

As Shift Supervisor, you'll:
  • Foster a safety-first, inclusive, and open communication culture.
  • Support vehicle operators in daily operations and ensure adherence to procedures and standards.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to team coordination, scheduling, and shift validation.
  • Provide regular written and verbal performance feedback to direct reports.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in proprietary vehicle operations software and systems.
  • Motivate, mentor, and guide team members to meet performance and safety expectations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for contractors, ensuring clarity of responsibilities and execution of assigned tasks.
  • Support operational missions in a variety of roles, both in and out of vehicles.
  • Act as a player-coach by working alongside the team and leading by example.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of autonomous vehicle operator experience and an active AVT permit
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative environment with a strong teamwork mindset
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and improve operational efficiency
  • Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable approach to challenges
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts
  • Excellent driving record

Preferred Skills:
  • 2+ years of experience in autonomous vehicle operations, fleet operations, or similar large-scale operational environments
  • Experience as an instructor, team lead, or supervisor within an operations team, or equivalent leadership experience
  • Experience leading or managing cross-functional teams
