Job description
HireArt is helping our client find a CAE Engineer - Vehicle NVH to support the development of vehicle-level noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) performance through advanced simulation and analysis.
In this role, you’ll provide NVH performance direction to key design, vehicle, and attribute teams while building and advancing NVH CAE prediction capabilities. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers across vehicle engineering, software, and robotics to solve complex noise and vibration challenges while expanding simulation tools and methodologies.
The ideal candidate is an experienced CAE engineer with deep expertise in NVH simulation and structural analysis. You are analytical, collaborative, and passionate about developing predictive simulation capabilities that drive vehicle performance improvements.
As a CAE Engineer - Vehicle NVH, you'll:
As a CAE Engineer - Vehicle NVH, you'll:
- Build and maintain high-fidelity NVH CAE models at the body, trimmed body, and full vehicle levels.
- Lead virtual vehicle structure and component development activities for NVH performance in collaboration with project, CAE, and engineering teams.
- Partner with test engineers to correlate structural performance between virtual simulations and physical testing.
- Lead execution of virtual design verification plans (DVPs), generate clear reports, and implement design countermeasures according to the engineering process.
- Apply optimization tools to balance NVH performance with weight and cost targets.
- Present analysis results and recommendations at project gateway reviews.
- Support the development of new virtual tools, methodologies, and correlation strategies to continuously improve the predictive accuracy of vehicle-level NVH CAE models.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- 8+ years of CAE NVH development experience in automotive or related industries
- Expert knowledge of ANSA, METApost, and OptiStruct
- Strong expertise in linear structural and vibro-acoustic analysis methods applied to vehicle systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop effective solutions efficiently
Bonus Qualifications:
- A master’s degree or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience with higher-frequency simulation techniques such as statistical energy analysis (SEA)
- Experience in vehicle CAE performance development (e.g., road noise, bushing rate sensitivity and tuning, aeroacoustics)
- Experience with basic Python coding
Benefits:
- Pre-tax commuter benefits
- Employer (HireArt) Subsidized healthcare benefits (eligibility begins on the first of the month following 60 days of service)
- Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
- HireArt covers all costs for short and long-term disability and life insurance
- 401k package
Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Foster City, CA area.
