HireArt is helping our client find an Electrical Inspection Quality Technician - Contractor to work with quality, manufacturing, and product development engineering teams to ensure products manufactured in-house meet design specifications and documentation requirements.
In this role, you’ll support cross-functional engineering projects where performance is measured by quality results, collaboration, and initiative.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-driven, and able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, can work independently, and bring an enthusiastic, problem-solving mindset to improving product quality.
As an Electrical Inspection Quality Technician, you'll:
As an Electrical Inspection Quality Technician, you'll:
- Evaluate quality requirements for new Jira tickets, interpret inspection plans, and perform visual and functional measurements and tests on PCBAs, wiring harnesses, and other electrical sub-assemblies.
- Review supplier documentation for outsourced PCBAs and electrical sub-assemblies to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Create and submit quality documentation, including inspection reports, dimensional reports, functional test reports (FTRs), process certifications, material certifications, rework instructions, temporary deviation orders (TDOs), packaging reports, and part submission warrants (PSWs) within quality databases such as Jira, RGBSI, 3DX, and internal quality logs.
- Document and track non-conformances discovered during inspections through TDOs and Jira tickets.
- Maintain part traceability in accordance with internal standards.
- Maintain calibration schedules for production and test equipment.
- Assist with root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations to drive resolution of quality issues.
- Support the mechanical inspection team with the backlog as needed.
- Communicate findings clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- 4+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience inspecting mechanical, electrical, or electronic equipment using precision measurement tools
- Experience defining and executing quality inspection criteria for PCBAs, harnesses, and electrical sub-assemblies
- Basic knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and core quality tools such as process flow charts, PFMEA (process failure mode and effects analysis), control plans, and measurement system analysis
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- IPC-610 and IPC-620 certification are preferred
Bonus Qualifications:
- Understanding of statistical sampling methods
- Working knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, Jira, and RGBSI
- General knowledge of GD&T
