Job description

HireArt is helping our client find Robotics Field Pilots to operate next-generation robotic arms across both stationary and mobile platforms using computer-based interfaces. You’ll guide robots through real-world tasks while generating high-quality training data for advanced AI systems.

In this role, you’ll work at computer workstations throughout full 8-hour shifts, using a mouse and keyboard to pilot robotic arms with precision, directly controlling their movements in real time. This is not traditional warehouse or manual labor work, nor does it require robotics programming. Instead, it focuses on operating robotic systems through structured tasks in a controlled environment where consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential.

This role may be a good fit for college students balancing classes, working professionals building technical skills, or anyone interested in gaining experience in the technology industry.

As a Robotics Field Pilot, you'll:
  • Operate stationary and mobile robotic arms using computer interfaces (point-and-click and drag-and-drop controls), guiding robot movements in real time.
  • Follow step-by-step procedures to complete assigned tasks with precision.
  • Maintain established quality standards throughout all data collection activities.
  • Perform repetitive operational tasks consistently and accurately throughout each shift.
  • Document results and log data in internal tracking systems.
  • Perform basic to moderate robot repairs as needed to maintain operational readiness.
  • Communicate task progress and escalate issues to supervisors when necessary.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English with the ability to read technical instructions, write brief reports, and communicate clearly with supervisors
  • Strong computer proficiency, including comfort using a mouse and keyboard, performing basic data entry, and learning new software interfaces
  • Reliable with consistent, on-time attendance and the ability to maintain focus throughout full 8-hour shifts
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours per day while performing repetitive tasks
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established procedures consistently
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to contribute ideas that improve processes and team operations

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Gaming experience, especially in strategy or simulation genres
  • Data entry experience
  • Quality control experience
  • Basic computer troubleshooting skills
  • Previous robotics experience or familiarity with robotic systems
  • Spanish language skills
  • Experience working in production or warehouse environments
  • Basic Python knowledge (helpful for potential automation opportunities discovered within the role)
  • Bachelor’s degree

Benefits:
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) subsidized Healthcare Benefits
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. This position will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the San Leandro, CA area.

HireArt values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas or employ corp-to-corp.
