Job description

HireArt is helping our client find a Quality Technician to support the development of advanced sensor technologies and compute platforms for automotive applications. The team provides rapid prototyping capabilities and enables fast design iterations to accelerate product development.

In this role, you’ll partner with quality, manufacturing, and the product development engineering teams to ensure in-house manufactured products meet design specifications, quality standards, and documentation requirements.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines while working both independently and collaboratively.

As a Quality Technician, you'll:
  • Develop and maintain inspection plans, work instructions, and quality control processes (IQC, IPQC, OQC).
  • Manage non-conforming material processes, including NCMRs, quarantine control, MRB coordination, and disposition tracking.
  • Perform root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations to resolve quality issues.
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections across mechanical and electrical components (e.g., injection-molded parts, castings, PCBAs, subassemblies) using precision measurement tools and CMM equipment.
  • Maintain calibration schedules and ensure test and measurement equipment compliance with ISO standards.
  • Execute sorting and containment activities as needed to support production.
  • Document inspection results and maintain quality metrics within reporting systems and databases.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across inspection and quality workflows.
  • Occasionally travel to the Fremont work site as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of industry experience or high school diploma (or equivalent) with 8-10 years of industry experience
  • Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and quality control fundamentals
  • Experience with MRB and NCMR processes
  • In-depth knowledge of 8D methodology and structured problem-solving techniques
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience performing mechanical inspections using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings using GD&T principles
  • Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of acceptable quality limits (AQL)
  • Basic knowledge of PFMEA and process flow documentation
  • Experience with PC-DMIS programming

Benefits:
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) Subsidized healthcare benefits (eligibility begins on the first of the month following 60 days of service)
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Foster City, CA area.
