Job description
HireArt is helping our client find a Test Engineering Technician to support the setup, execution, and debugging of tests for sensor and compute hardware platforms.
In this role, you’ll support prototype builds and production-intent hardware by executing test plans with high accuracy and ensuring components meet performance and reliability standards. You’ll work closely with engineering and R&D teams to validate designs, troubleshoot failures, and improve test processes.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in hardware testing within an engineering development environment.
As a Test Engineering Technician, you'll:
As a Test Engineering Technician, you'll:
- Test and troubleshoot prototype assemblies with support from engineering and R&D teams.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback during the prototype development phase.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure products are designed for manufacturability and testability.
- Perform final testing of components and assemblies.
- Conduct failure analysis and repairs, and generate detailed failure analysis reports.
- Create and refine test instructions and procedures to improve test quality and efficiency.
- Maintain test equipment calibration and lab tools.
- Support development of automated test fixtures and related software or firmware.
- Perform testing and calibration of subassemblies and final assemblies.
- Follow electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions to complete work assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, or mechanical technology, or equivalent experience
- 4-6 years of relevant hands-on testing experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings
- Experience assembling and repairing wiring harnesses
- Experience using electrical engineering lab equipment (digital multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.)
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience reworking PCBAs
- Experience with shock, vibration, thermal, and ingress protection (IP) testing
- EMC testing experience
- Automotive ECU testing experience
- Familiarity with the Linux command line
