Job description
HireArt is helping our client find a Mechanical Engineer to design and release components critical to vehicle development, validation, and testing. This role will also manage the bill of materials (BOM) and partner cross-functionally to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
In this role, you’ll support vehicle-level hardware development within the EE Systems team, contributing to the design, validation, and production readiness of key mechanical and electromechanical components.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, collaborative, and experienced in taking hardware from concept through production.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll:
- Own the design, validation, and implementation of hardware within the EE Systems team, including manual driving interfaces, remote control systems, and test interfaces.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define component requirements and system interfaces, driving cross-functional alignment and implementation.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify design improvements and propose effective solutions.
- Develop and execute component validation plans.
- Manage development timelines and deliverables across multiple projects.
- Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to mature designs and support vehicle builds.
- Support vehicle bring-up and test activities.
- Manage and maintain BOM documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, mechatronics, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design using 3D CAD, including supporting analyses (stress, thermal, mass, tolerance, etc.)
- Strong understanding of material properties, fabrication methods, and design for manufacturability
- Experience taking products or assemblies from concept through production, including working with external suppliers
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Bonus Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CATIA V5, V6, or 3DEXPERIENCE
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or other safety-critical industries
- Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety standards
- Experience with chassis and/or electromechanical systems
- Knowledge of 3D and 2D wire harness design
