HireArt is helping our client find a Chassis Engineer - Actuators/Steering to support the development of advanced active chassis systems for next-generation autonomous vehicles.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers across AI, robotics, controls, vehicle dynamics, firmware, simulation, and systems integration to deliver high-performance steering and actuator systems.
You’ll lead the development and release of steering system components and related software, working closely with suppliers to meet cost, weight, timing, and performance targets. This role includes hands-on involvement in controls development, vehicle testing, and performance evaluation.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with electromechanical systems, vehicle dynamics development and tuning, and CAN communications and signal analysis. You collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners across vehicle integration, systems engineering, functional safety, firmware, and validation teams.

As a Chassis Engineer - Actuators/Steering, you'll:
- Design and develop steering and actuator hardware in CATIA V6, delivering high-quality 2D drawing packages for production release.
- Conduct static, dynamic, and thermal-mechanical analysis and testing to validate structural integrity and system performance.
- Lead supplier development for steering components and firmware, ensuring alignment with program milestones.
- Own hardware program timing, managing technical risks and critical paths to meet vehicle-level deliverables.
- Support controls development and vehicle testing, including performance tuning and signal analysis.
- Partner cross-functionally with AI, manufacturing, service operations, and vehicle engineering teams to ensure seamless hardware/software integration and DFM/DFS alignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 6+ years of experience in complex automotive or electromechanical hardware development
- Experience transitioning components from prototype to high-volume production, including DFM/DFA and tooling validation
- Advanced proficiency in CATIA V6 and strong command of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Solid understanding of electromechanical integration, system architecture, and ISO 26262 functional safety
- Experience with automotive release processes and long-term program schedule management
- Familiarity with CAN communication and signal analysis
Bonus Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in an engineering discipline
- Experience at an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier
- Experience with Polarion, Jira, and Confluence
