Job description

HireArt is helping our client find a Sr. Accountant/Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations, including accounts payable, general ledger management, and month-end close.

In this role, you will take full ownership of your workload while partnering with teams across the organization to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, reliable, and customer-focused, with strong communication skills. You’re comfortable prioritizing competing deadlines, working independently, and maintaining a positive, solutions-oriented mindset in a fast-paced environment.

As a Sr. Accountant/Accounting Manager, you'll:
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
  • Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger integrity.
  • Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies through detailed account analysis.
  • Oversee accounts payable operations and drive process improvements.
  • Review and ensure accurate classification of employee expenses.
  • Provide backup support across accounting functions, including fixed assets and lease accounting.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate accruals and financial reporting.
  • Evaluate and enhance accounting systems, controls, and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
  • 6+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage multiple priorities
  • Advanced Excel proficiency

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience in a mid-sized startup and/or public company environment
  • Experience with SAP, Ariba, or Oracle
