Job description
HireArt is helping our client find a Mechanical Engineer to support system-level testing of electrical and mechatronic components through detailed 3D CAD modeling and test infrastructure design.
In this role, you’ll work with a high-performing, cross-functional team to translate concepts into fabrication-ready designs. You’ll also model existing lab spaces and equipment to support ongoing and future test programs.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working across design, testing, and installation efforts in a fast-paced engineering environment.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll:
- Design and model vehicle bucks and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test systems that enable critical validation activities.
- Model and design custom test infrastructure, including dynamometers, fixtures, equipment racks, sensor adapters, and related hardware.
- Measure, model, and document existing equipment, updating drawings and visual documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with internal customers to understand design requirements, constraints, and project scope.
- Support equipment assembly and installation efforts in the lab or test environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent practical experience with demonstrated technical proficiency
- Strong experience using CATIA 3DX to model and design parts such as brackets, enclosures, and harness routing
- Experience measuring and modeling existing or off-the-shelf equipment
- Ability to import, clean up, and integrate third-party models into CATIA 3DX or similar tools
- Proficiency creating high-quality 2D fabrication drawings and applying GD&T fundamentals
- Experience with PLM and BOM management
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechatronic concepts
Bonus Qualifications:
- Hands-on fabrication or assembly experience, including work on vehicles or mechanical systems
- Experience with structural and/or thermal analysis
- Familiarity with building codes and collaboration with architects or facilities teams, Revit experience a plus
- Knowledge of fastener selection, torque specifications, and related hardware details
- Experience with documentation and tracking tools such as Confluence or Jira
- Exposure to wire harness design or electronics integration
