Job description
HireArt is helping our client find a Vehicle Build Technician to support its vehicle build team.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the NPI manager to build fleet expansion vehicles and provide hands-on maintenance support for an active fleet.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys fixing cars and computers, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, technical environment.
As a Vehicle Build Technician, you will:
In this role, you’ll work closely with the NPI manager to build fleet expansion vehicles and provide hands-on maintenance support for an active fleet.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys fixing cars and computers, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, technical environment.
As a Vehicle Build Technician, you will:
- Support the assembly, modification, testing, and troubleshooting of FLEX vehicles, including associated assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Fabricate and fit-check mounts, brackets, and electrical harnesses as needed.
- Assist with testing, installation, and configuration of ADAS components, such as cameras, LIDARs, and RADARs.
- Provide troubleshooting and maintenance support for fleet vehicles, with availability for travel across the United States and internationally based on project needs.
- Help maintain an organized and efficient shop environment through general cleanup and workspace upkeep.
- Assist with inventory management tasks.
Requirements
- High proficiency in assembling and testing electromechanical components
- Experience with electrical harness fabrication, including soldering and cable termination
- Ability to perform metal fabrication tasks such as sheet metal work, drilling, cutting, rivet-nut installation, and frame assembly (e.g., 80/20)
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux-based computer systems, including basic troubleshooting and software usage, is a plus
