Job description

HireArt is helping our client find a Trust and Safety Operations Lead to help build, guide, and professionalize a growing content moderation team.

In this role, you’ll keep operations running smoothly by aligning the team around shared goals, maintaining high standards, and fostering accountability and trust between leadership and the front line.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in fast-moving environments, brings strong operational leadership skills, and can work independently with minimal oversight once trained and ramped.

As a Trust and Safety Operations Lead, you will:
  • Oversee daily operations for a team of 12-15 Trust & Safety Associates, ensuring high-quality and consistent output.
  • Set clear performance expectations and drive accountability for quality, productivity, and professionalism.
  • Provide regular coaching and feedback to strengthen team judgment, communication, and reliability.
  • Track and analyze team metrics (quality scores, turnaround times, attendance) to identify trends and improvement areas.
  • Partner with leadership to implement process improvements and training updates and standardize best practices.
  • Create an environment of trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement, modeling professionalism and ownership.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for workflow and procedural questions, ensuring clarity and consistency in execution.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training for new team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience in trust & safety, content moderation, or operations, including 1-2 years in a lead or people management role
  • Proven ability to drive team performance, set expectations, and foster accountability
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Data-driven mindset, comfortable using metrics to monitor and improve performance
  • Strong judgment, composure, and follow-through in dynamic, high-pressure environments
  • Experience managing remote or distributed teams is a plus
  • Fluency in other languages (e.g., German, French, Chinese) is a plus

Benefits:
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) subsidized Healthcare Benefits
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. This role will be remote and available to U.S.-based candidates able to work PST hours. Candidates local to the Bay Area may choose to work onsite if they prefer.

HireArt values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas or employ corp-to-corp.
