Job description

HireArt is helping our client find Heavy Machinery Operators to support the safe operation, testing, and readiness of large-scale mining vehicles while representing the company with professionalism and a customer-service mindset.

In this role, you’ll operate and maintain 20-ton mining vehicles, perform routine inspections, and support hardware and software testing to ensure vehicle performance, safety, and reliability. You’ll also provide valuable feedback to engineering teams to improve system functionality and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and adaptable, with proven heavy machinery experience and strong attention to detail. You take pride in maintaining operational excellence and are open to learning about advanced vehicles and autonomous systems.

As a Heavy Machinery Operator, you'll:
  • Safely operate 20-ton mining vehicles and other fleet equipment as needed.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete DVIRs, and report maintenance or performance issues promptly.
  • Support hardware and software testing, providing detailed written and verbal feedback to engineering teams.
  • Uphold the highest safety and compliance standards, ensuring readiness of all assigned vehicles.
  • Travel as required (up to 50%) to support field operations and testing activities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of verified heavy machinery operation experience
  • Comfortable driving and backing 20-ton vehicles for extended periods
  • Valid CDL-A license preferred (not required)
  • Clean driving record (MVR):
    • No more than two minor violations in the past 3 years
    • No serious violations in the past 5 years
    • No DUI/DWI/OUI/reckless driving convictions in the past 10 years
    • No preventable accidents in the past 3 years (personal or commercial)
    • No DOT recordable accidents in the past 10 years
  • Ability to pass a background check and road test
  • Professional, reliable, and team-oriented with strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to company policies and safety procedures
  • Interest in driver-assistance and autonomous technology and willingness to learn new tools and systems
