The ideal candidate is a hands-on systems engineer with deep expertise in identity management and enterprise SaaS applications. You’re proactive, organized, and capable of driving complex initiatives from concept to completion in a fast-paced environment.

As a Systems Engineer – Applications & Identity, you will:
  • Lead administration, configuration, and optimization of core enterprise applications (Okta, Jira, Slack, Google Workspace).
  • Own and maintain Identity and Access Management (IAM) via Okta, including lifecycle management, SSO, and MFA.
  • Design and implement integrations and automations between SaaS tools using APIs, webhooks, or scripting (e.g., Python).
  • Define and document application and identity standards to ensure consistency, security, and scalability.
  • Act as the technical owner for new SaaS onboarding, security reviews, and integrations.
  • Manage key vendor relationships (Okta, Atlassian, Slack, Google) and coordinate support escalations.
  • Collaborate with IT, Security, and HR on automation projects (e.g., onboarding/offboarding workflows).
  • Troubleshoot complex application and identity issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience as a systems engineer, IT administrator, or similar role in a corporate environment
  • Deep technical expertise in IAM, especially Okta (Lifecycle Management, SSO, MFA, Workflows)
  • Strong experience administering Google Workspace, Atlassian Cloud (Jira/Confluence), and Slack
  • Proven ability to own and manage enterprise SaaS environments end to end
  • Experience building and maintaining integrations between SaaS applications using APIs or scripting
  • Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation
  • Strong leadership, documentation, and collaboration skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience managing vendors and project budgets

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as Okta Certified Professional or Administrator
  • Familiarity with endpoint management or networking fundamentals
  • Understanding of ITIL or similar service management frameworks

Benefits:
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) subsidized healthcare benefits
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package

Commitment: This is a full-time, 6-month contract position staffed via HireArt. It is onsite and available to candidates local to the Sunnyvale, CA area.
