HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Senior Engineering Technician to support the development of next-generation electronic hardware for automotive applications.
In this role, you’ll provide rapid prototyping and low-volume hardware assembly capabilities that enable quick design iterations and product development. You’ll work closely with engineers across disciplines to build, test, and refine hardware in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who thrives in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment with minimal oversight. You’re skilled at reading schematics, assembling complex electronic systems with precision, and communicating effectively across teams. You take pride in your work, enjoy collaborating, and are comfortable working independently in a lean, startup-style setting.

- Follow detailed procedures and work instructions to ensure accuracy and repeatability in every assignment.
- Assist engineers in developing and improving manufacturing and assembly processes for new products.
- Assemble and test a variety of electronic hardware, from engineering prototypes through short-run production builds.
- Support troubleshooting and propose alternative assembly techniques to resolve issues.
- Perform quality checks and act as a quality delegate, inspecting the work of other technicians in the lab.
- Conduct final product testing according to written procedures and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring equipment is properly used and maintained.
- Communicate clearly and proactively to ensure work meets project timelines and quality expectations.
- Work independently on routine tasks with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Demonstrate reliability through consistent attendance and punctuality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 6-8 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and experience using computers for data entry and internet research
- Proficiency with standard assembly tools (e.g., cutters, crimpers, soldering irons, pin insertion/removal tools, torque tools)
- Experience collaborating with product development teams in low-volume manufacturing environments
- Hands-on lab experience with soldering, power supplies, signal generators, and oscilloscopes
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or J-STD-001 standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Technical training (e.g., soldering certification, trade school, or on-the-job training) is preferred
Nice to Have:
- Experience with PLM tools (such as 3DX)
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP or Oracle)
- Python or other coding skills to support test automation or data tracking
