Job description

HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Test Technician, EE Systems Integration Lab to operate a dynamometer and execute defined test plans on electrical test assets.

In this role, you’ll design, procure, and build test bucks and robots with precision and visible craftsmanship. You’ll collaborate with system owners, firmware developers, test engineers, and other technicians to operate test assets in both stationary and dynamometer environments.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and technically skilled, with experience assembling and testing electro-mechanical systems and a strong understanding of electrical testing procedures and lab tools.

As a Test Technician, EE Systems Integration Lab, you'll:
  • Train to operate the company’s dynamometer (dyno) to simulate driving conditions and perform fault injection on hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) electrical test assets.
  • Execute test cases according to defined plans on the dyno.
  • Work with test requesters to ensure accurate and successful performance evaluations.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting when tests fail or perform unexpectedly.
  • Flash firmware on vehicle components, maintaining clear version tracking.
  • Assemble electro-mechanical system assets and test fixtures.
  • Fabricate and assemble test fixtures from CAD models and design drawings.
  • Fabricate and pinout wiring harnesses from schematics.
  • Use EE lab equipment (digital multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.) to diagnose and validate test setups.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in electrical/electronics technology, or equivalent discipline
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Proven experience executing test plans on electrical assets
  • Knowledge in Linux commands and scripting
  • Experience assembling and testing electro-mechanical systems
  • Hands-on experience with EE lab equipment (digital multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.)

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience with axle-hub dynamometers
  • Familiar with operating dSPACE and HIL systems
  • Previous experience diagnosing CAN or Ethernet network issues
  • Experience with automotive high-voltage systems
  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience

Benefits:
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) subsidized healthcare benefits (Eligibility begins on the first of the month following 60 days of service)
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. This role will be onsite and available to candidates local to the Foster City, CA area.

HireArt values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas or employ corp-to-corp.
