HireArt is helping our client hire IP Specialists to handle inbound intellectual property reports, including DMCA takedowns, trademark complaints, and other IP enforcement matters.

In this role, you’ll review, triage, and resolve IP cases in accordance with company policy, legal requirements, and established operational standards. This is a high-judgment, detail-oriented contract role suited for professionals experienced in IP or Trust & Safety operations who can manage a steady queue of cases while maintaining clear, professional communication with rights holders and users.

The ideal candidate is meticulous, organized, and confident in handling sensitive or complex IP issues. You bring strong written communication skills, a solid understanding of intellectual property law, and the judgment to make consistent, fair decisions in a fast-paced environment.

As an IP Specialist, you will:
  • Review, verify, and process DMCA, trademark, and other IP-related requests in compliance with policy and law.
  • Communicate with rights holders and users regarding removals, counter-notifications, and appeals.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all case activity within internal systems.
  • Escalate complex or ambiguous cases to the IP Operations Lead or Legal team.
  • Contribute to improving internal workflows, templates, and macros for efficiency and consistency.
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and compliance across all handled cases.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Trust & Safety, and support teams on cross-functional issues.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in IP enforcement, Trust & Safety, Legal Operations, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of the DMCA and intellectual property frameworks
  • Exceptional written communication skills for correspondence with rights holders and users
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in queue-based work
  • Experience using CRM or moderation tools (e.g., Zendesk or equivalent)
  • Ability to work independently while handling confidential information with care

Benefits:
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) subsidized Healthcare Benefits
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. This role will be remote and available to U.S-based candidates able to work PST hours. Preference will be given to candidates local to the Bay Area.

HireArt values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas or employ corp-to-corp.
