HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Collision Repair Specialist to lead body repairs for its test and operations fleet.
In this role, you will oversee collision repairs, develop and execute repair plans with certified shops, onboard new repair partners, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate processes and minimize vehicle downtime.
The ideal candidate has OEM-certified collision repair experience, strong body and paint repair skills, and can guide shops and engineers while standardizing procedures to support operational readiness.
As a Collision Repair Specialist, you'll:
In this role, you will oversee collision repairs, develop and execute repair plans with certified shops, onboard new repair partners, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate processes and minimize vehicle downtime.
The ideal candidate has OEM-certified collision repair experience, strong body and paint repair skills, and can guide shops and engineers while standardizing procedures to support operational readiness.
As a Collision Repair Specialist, you'll:
- Support the collision program by onboarding repair shops and developing a certified collision repair network.
- Guide shops performing cosmetic and structural repairs, serving as the subject matter expert for engineering consultations.
- Test and validate repair solutions, document methods, and contribute to standard operating procedure (SOP) development.
- Partner with supply chain and serviceability engineers to plan spare parts for new vehicle releases.
- Support repair cost estimation and collision evaluations.
- Identify improvement opportunities, collaborating with tooling engineers to develop repair tools and advance in-house capabilities.
- Participate directly in repair activities, including paint-related touch-ups.
- Occasionally travel to company sites to inspect, document, and evaluate vehicle damage.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Automotive Technology
- 4+ years of experience in collision repair, with OEM structural repair certifications (Tesla, Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, etc.)
- Expertise in cosmetic and structural repair of sheet molded compound, aluminum, steel, and plastics
- Proven experience performing complex body repairs, collaborating cross-functionally, and independently managing multiple projects
- Ability to perform practical paint repairs and minor touch-ups
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with CATIA 3Dx CAD (or willingness to learn new systems quickly)
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience developing OEM collision repair certification programs
- Familiarity with forged carbon/carbon fiber automotive bodies
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams to test and validate repair methods
- Background in developing and documenting OEM repair procedures
- Technical training or instructional experience
