In this role, you will oversee collision repairs, develop and execute repair plans with certified shops, onboard new repair partners, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate processes and minimize vehicle downtime.

The ideal candidate has OEM-certified collision repair experience, strong body and paint repair skills, and can guide shops and engineers while standardizing procedures to support operational readiness.

As a Collision Repair Specialist, you'll:
  • Support the collision program by onboarding repair shops and developing a certified collision repair network.
  • Guide shops performing cosmetic and structural repairs, serving as the subject matter expert for engineering consultations.
  • Test and validate repair solutions, document methods, and contribute to standard operating procedure (SOP) development.
  • Partner with supply chain and serviceability engineers to plan spare parts for new vehicle releases.
  • Support repair cost estimation and collision evaluations.
  • Identify improvement opportunities, collaborating with tooling engineers to develop repair tools and advance in-house capabilities.
  • Participate directly in repair activities, including paint-related touch-ups.
  • Occasionally travel to company sites to inspect, document, and evaluate vehicle damage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Automotive Technology
  • 4+ years of experience in collision repair, with OEM structural repair certifications (Tesla, Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, etc.)
  • Expertise in cosmetic and structural repair of sheet molded compound, aluminum, steel, and plastics
  • Proven experience performing complex body repairs, collaborating cross-functionally, and independently managing multiple projects
  • Ability to perform practical paint repairs and minor touch-ups
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with CATIA 3Dx CAD (or willingness to learn new systems quickly)
  • Willingness to travel domestically as needed

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience developing OEM collision repair certification programs
  • Familiarity with forged carbon/carbon fiber automotive bodies
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams to test and validate repair methods
  • Background in developing and documenting OEM repair procedures
  • Technical training or instructional experience

Benefits:
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) subsidized healthcare benefits (Eligibility begins 90 days after start date)
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Foster City, CA area.
