HireArt is looking for an adaptable and team-oriented Staff Engineer with excellent communication skills to help architect and implement features in our Rails back-end and React front-end. As a remote staff engineer, you’ll architect, implement, and own features of the HireArt platform as we work to automate the administrative aspects of the staffing experience.
Here’s some of what you’ll do:
- Prioritize and plan projects for the greatest impact to our users
- Collaborate with other brilliant engineers to deliver features in a team environment
- Work cross-functionally to incorporate the ideas and needs of internal teams into the platform
- Optimize queries and application performance
- Build user-centric experiences using React
- Integrate with 3rd party APIs to ensure compliance and provide a robust array of services to our users
Requirements
What you’ll need for the job:
- 5+ years of professional programming experience
- 3+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails (or a similar MVC framework)
- Comfort with at least one modern Javascript front-end framework (ideally React)
- Passion for fostering an engineering culture that embraces collaborative, ego-free exploration in the pursuit of robust, scalable solutions
You’ll REALLY stand out if you have:
- Exceptional communication skills. We value making sure every voice is heard and every opinion is considered.
- Strong understanding of Rails dependency upgrades and maintenance of Ruby gems
- Solid testing practices and methodology
- Experience with Heroku and DevOps-related work
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines
We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. So, here’s what you can expect from us:
- Base salary + equity
- 100% employer covered health, dental, and vision premiums for employee, spouse, and children.
- Life and disability insurance
- Unlimited PTO and paid holidays
- Parental leave
- Work-from-home stipends, including:
- Workspace/home office set up
- Company provided laptop
- Phone/Internet service
Commitment:This is a permanent, full-time, W-2 position with HireArt and is open to United States- and Canada-based candidates who are authorized to work in either of those countries. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas.
HireArt values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer, which is why we are interested in every qualified candidate, regardless of their background or how they identify.
Company description
HireArt's mission is to make it easy for companies to build and manage a world-class contract workforce.
Today, mid-sized companies with contract workforces must navigate significant legal, financial, talent acquisition, and operational complexities to build and manage these workforces on a global scale. In most cases, they rely on a stack of point solutions: agencies to source and employ talent, a software system to track workers and agencies (VMS), and a service to provide day-to-day management of the program (MSP). The default contract workforce stack doesn’t provide much visibility into or control over the workforce, because the pieces of the stack don’t integrate well together, resulting in massive administrative headaches and frustration for companies.
HireArt’s delightful intersection of humans and software provide all of the tooling needed for mid-sized companies to hire contractors anywhere in the world compliantly, and contract workers to have as great an experience as full-time employees have day-to-day.
