As an Operational Safety Specialist, you will:
- Serve as the primary compliance officer for AVT and Flex programs, including monitoring relevant regulations affecting autonomous vehicles, labor practices, and operational logistics; and maintaining a centralized compliance calendar with alerts for permit renewals, audits, and training deadlines.
- Own the end-to-end process for vehicle registration, title management, and insurance tracking, including accurate and timely renewals of operational permits across jurisdictions, coordination with legal teams, government agencies, and insurance providers to ensure alignment and timely action.
- Standardize reporting and documentation procedures for recurring (and ad hoc) compliance needs by collaborating with engineering, field ops, HR, and program managers to integrate compliance seamlessly into workflows.
- Build and maintain an internal compliance knowledge base to streamline onboarding and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with EHS Management to create, update, and maintain protocols and documentation for the Vehicle Operations department and lead the incident tracking, documentation, and response coordination to promote a safety-first culture.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in safety, regulatory compliance, or operational risk roles, in tech, logistics, mobility, or manufacturing; huge plus if you've done this for an autonomous vehicle tech company.
- Operational safety exposure to large-scale fleet operations, ideally in a testing environment.
