As a Robot Service Technician, you'll:
- Daily Robot Operations:
- Prepare and deploy robots each morning (insert batteries, run diagnostics, roll out to service, and report service readiness to remote operators)
- Swap batteries, monitor activity, and maintain robot readiness throughout the day.
- Maintain a neat, well-organized workspace and oversee inventory management for tools, parts, and components.
- Mechanical Maintenance and Repairs:
- Assemble harnesses, cables, and connectors for self-driving delivery robots.
- Install and replace sensors, including LiDAR, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors.
- Diagnose breakdowns, investigate on-street incidents, and execute service campaigns to update parts or install new modules.
- Carry out service campaigns—updating parts on a high volume of robots and installing sensors or new components as directed.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using tools like multimeters, basic diagnostic software, and hand tools.
- Field Support:
- Occasionally respond to field incidents (approx. once every 3 days), retrieving or repairing robots on-site using company-provided tools.
- Mount experimental modules and help test new hardware in real-world environments.
Requirements
- Mechanically handy and comfortable with tool-based, repetitive work (e.g., tire changes on many robots)
- Must be comfortable operating a scooter for field incident response
- Self-sufficient and responsible—you’ll have a high level of ownership of your site and fleet
- Curious and eager to learn; able to navigate unfamiliar tasks with confidence and resourcefulness when facing unfamiliar tasks
- A problem-solving approach when faced with roadblocks or a need for clarification
- Comfortable using hand tools, multimeters, and computer-based diagnostic software

- Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR for the past 12 months
- Physically able to lift items up to 50 lbs and maneuver equipment safely
Preferred Experience:
- Background in robotics, automotive maintenance, or electronics
- Experience in a hands-on technical or shop-floor environment (e.g., dealership, service bay, warehouse)
- Prior experience in a management, leadership, or operations role is a plus, though not required
Benefits:

- Employer (HireArt) Subsidized Healthcare Benefits
- Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
