Job description

HireArt is helping our client hire a Shift Coordinator to help ensure the smooth execution of test operations.

In this role, you will manage vehicle and operator assignments, perform deployment readiness checks, and act as the central point of contact for all in-shift coordination and escalations. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining operational efficiency, safety, and real-time communication with cross-functional teams.

As a Shift Coordinator, you'll:
  • Execute test plans by coordinating daily vehicle deployments and operator assignments.
  • Conduct pre-deployment checks (e.g., software branch validation, time sync, vehicle readiness) to ensure all vehicles meet operational standards.
  • Monitor vehicle fleet health in real-time using internal tools and dashboards.
  • Ensure all operators comply with safety and testing protocols.
  • Maintain detailed shift logs, performance metrics, and operational hand-offs.
  • Coordinate in-shift support activities, including vehicle swaps and priority changes.
  • Support vehicle readiness by tracking blockers (e.g., maintenance, charging, software) and aligning resources for quick resolution.
  • Manage dynamic reassignments due to vehicle issues, operator availability, or testing priority changes.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of operations, logistics, or vehicle fleet coordination experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, especially under time-sensitive conditions
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced technical environment
  • Familiarity with basic troubleshooting and triaging workflows
  • A safety-first mindset and meticulous attention to operational detail
  • Comfort using dashboards, logs, and internal tools to monitor fleet activity

Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience in the following:
    • Fleet Management Systems (e.g., Fleetio), Slack, Jira, and Confluence, and Google Workspace
    • Autonomous vehicles or automotive work
    • Prior coordination or dispatcher experience in field operations
    • Supporting cross-functional technical teams
  • A basic understanding of software deployments, telemetry, and vehicle health monitoring systems
Benefits:
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) subsidized healthcare benefits
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It is onsite and available to candidates local to the Sunnyvale, CA area.
