Job description

HireArt is helping our client hire hands-on, versatile Robot Service Technicians to support the production, maintenance, and repair of self-driving delivery robots. This role involves a variety of tasks, including mechanical and electrical assembly, troubleshooting, and fieldwork.

The ideal candidates will have experience in automotive or manufacturing environments, a proactive mindset, and the ability to handle diverse responsibilities.

As a Robot Service Technician, you'll:
Production and Assembly:
  • Assemble harnesses, cables, and connectors for self-driving delivery robots.
  • Install and replace sensors (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors).
Maintenance and Repairs:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the robot fleet.
  • Diagnose breakdowns, investigate incidents, and execute service campaigns.
  • Test and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components, including suspensions and batteries.
Field Support:
  • Travel between local locations to provide onsite support when needed.
  • Handle rapid prototyping, testing, and inventory management.
Research and Development Support:
  • Assist in R&D experiments, contributing to the development of new projects.

Requirements

  • Experience with mechanical and electrical tools, including measuring equipment
  • Experience assembling and disassembling electrical components
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D mechanical drawings
  • Experience installing custom electronic modules
  • Comfortable working with AC/DC currents
  • Valid driver’s license (clean MVR for the last 12 months; no CDL required)
  • Comfortable working in field environments
  • Ability to lift and move items over 50 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured, logical approach to problem-solving
  • Team-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Creative and adaptable mindset to tackle diverse technical challenges

Preferred Experience:
  • Background in automotive retrofitting or electric vehicle (EV) service
  • General computer literacy
  • Soldering and crimping experience is a plus
