Job description

HireArt is helping our client find experienced Spanish Transcriptionists to assist with multiple Spanish transcription projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for listening to a variety of audio data, which may include different accents, background noise, crosstalk, etc. You must also have superb typing skills and be able to focus for long periods of time with strong attention to detail.

This assignment is part-time remote and is a year-based contract, with a strong possibility of extension for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will be able to deliver high-quality transcription data and ASR-validated datasets at a fairly quick and consistent pace while being able to maintain sharp focus. The ability to maintain confidentiality, collaborate on a team, and communicate effectively is essential in this role.

Requirements

  • Native-level fluency in Spanish
  • Fluency in English
    • You will communicate with management, project leads, and team members in English
    • All style guide materials are in English
  • Minimum of 2 years transcription experience in the target language
    • You must also have the ability to transcribe English content
  • Typing speed of 75+ WPM with 98%+ accuracy
  • Ability to consistently transcribe audio to a set weekly quota
  • Ability to perform basic quality control checks
    • Spelling
    • Formatting
    • Guideline Adherence
  • Proficiency in the use of standard transcription software and hardware
  • Capacity for transcribing to strict conventions (style guides)
    • The ability to distinguish between the various types of transcription
    • Ability to accurately timestamp multiple speakers on dual channels
    • Aptitude for accurately identifying and tracking speakers and channels
  • Working knowledge of operating in a Cloud environment
    • Working Platform(s), Downloading/Uploading
    • Data Storage and Security
  • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Familiarity with the use of Slack and other modes of communication
    • At ease requesting clarification or communicating observed Style Guide gaps and/or ambiguities
    • Project issues, schedule changes, etc.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage time-in-task and meet project deadlines

Bonus Expertise:
  • Experience with text annotation
  • Familiarity with file encoding
  • Knowledge of and ability to use text editors
  • Working knowledge of shared dictionaries
  • Ability to independently enhance audio quality for clarity
  • Basic technical troubleshooting skills
  • Basic level spreadsheet skills
  • Familiarity with the use of transcription in Machine Learning/AI
