Position Description
Position Title: Vice President, Workforce Enterprises
Reports Directly To: President and CEO
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary:
Salem University is launching a Workforce Enterprises division focused on employer-aligned, short-cycle credential programs and industry-responsive training pathways. The Vice President, Workforce Enterprises will lead strategic development, revenue growth, partnership expansion, and contribution margin performance within a collaborative matrix organizational structure.
This executive will operate as a revenue-generating growth leader with P&L accountability for workforce initiatives while leveraging shared institutional services including finance, marketing, enrollment, compliance, and academic affairs. The division will incorporate innovative delivery models, including immersive and VR-enabled training environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive revenue growth and contribution margin performance
- Develop and scale employer-aligned credential programs
- Secure corporate training and industry partnership agreements
- Collaborate with academic leadership on program design and compliance alignment
- Build scalable enrollment pipelines and workforce marketing strategies
- Establish measurable placement and career outcome metrics
- Advance innovative delivery models including immersive, simulation, and VR-based training platforms
Performance Metrics
- Revenue growth and contribution margin
- Employer contracts secured
- Enrollment growth rate
- Time-to-launch for new programs
- Placement rates and retention metrics
Position Qualifications:
- 5+ years leadership in workforce development, vocational education, bootcamps, or corporate training
- Direct P&L or business unit ownership experience
- Proven partnership development track record
- Experience operating in performance-driven environments
- Ability to lead within a matrix organizational structure
- Experience with technology-enabled or immersive learning models preferred
Compensation Range:
Base Salary: $135,000 – $160,000
Target Bonus: 20%–30% performance-based
Target Total Compensation: $165,000 – $200,000
Long-Term Incentive Opportunity: This position is eligible to participate in a long-term incentive program, which may include a phantom equity or performance participation structure tied to the financial performance and value creation of the Workforce Enterprises division. Specific terms, performance thresholds, vesting conditions, and payout provisions will be established by the Board and documented separately.
