Job Description:
In addition to its core and supplemental programs, Amplify offers coaching programs that support educators in utilizing data-driven practices to improve their instruction. Teachers and school leaders receive continuous in-person coaching sessions that draw upon Amplify’s Taking Action with Data (TADA) framework and are customized based on the needs of their school site. Amplify’s data coaching services have made a difference for educators in Mississippi, Delaware, Colorado, Rhode Island, and Indiana, resulting in positive changes in classroom practice and strong gains in student achievement.
Amplify is seeking a Data Coach with a background in teaching, coaching and/or school leadership to join our Professional Development (PD) team as a fixed-term employee in Mississippi for the 2025-2026 school year.
Position Summary
The Data Coach will play a critical role in supporting select, high needs Mississippi schools as part of the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE)’s Data Coaching program. Reporting to the Lead Data Coach, the Data Coach will ensure that the schools they work with leverage data continuously and effectively in order to promote rapid student achievement in multiple content areas (literacy, math, science, history, etc.).
The successful candidate will be a results-driven education leader who uses data to make decisions and
ensures outstanding support to our partnering schools, school leaders, and teachers. The Data Coach will combine a capacity for systems and strategic thinking, deep instructional knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, excellent project management skills, and strong relationship-building skills with critical internal and external stakeholders.
**This is a fixed-term, in-person position based within driving distance of Charleston, Mississippi.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide direct, in-person coaching services to schools with a statewide classification of a “C”, “D”, and/or “F” throughout the year (2 days/week per school site)
Plan and conduct thorough data dives throughout the year that guides teachers and school leaders to assess their current data strengths, challenges, and opportunities
Align with teachers and school leaders on schoolwide, classroom, and student level goals that align with district and state goals and priorities
Plan and lead weekly data analysis one-on-one meetings with teachers and school leaders
Regularly review progress towards goals and plan aligned next steps with teachers and school leaders
Lead school leaders in routine schoolwide walkthroughs, in which participants debrief takeaways, analyze trends, and establish next steps
Lead instructional strategy and data-aligned Professional Learning Communities for teachers
Co-plan and provide feedback on the facilitation of instructional strategy and data-aligned Professional Learning Communities for school leaders
Provide ongoing, targeted observation and feedback aligned to instructional next steps for teachers
Travel in-person to school sites 4 days/week (planning and follow up is completed on the fifth day)
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years experience leading sustained coaching engagements and professional development for educators in K-12
5+ years of K-12 classroom teaching experience, leading to demonstrable results for students
Experience working on collaborative projects with leaders and teachers
Experience analyzing data and using it to inform practice
Proven efficacy in time management while managing multiple engagements and competing priorities
Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and practices, including methods of differentiating instruction and fostering student engagement
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology-based productivity tools including Microsoft and Google Applications
Personal car for travel to schools in Charleston, MS each week
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s or advanced degree in education
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: This position requires that the Data Coach be permitted to work in the US, have residency in the US, and possess a valid US driver’s license. The coach must live within driving distance of Charleston, MS. The Coach may be asked to deliver sessions throughout the country based on business needs and during school closures or if the contract terminates early.
Travel: Local travel is required and considered an essential job function. Access to a car to drive to schools is required for the role. Car mileage and related expenses for professional development delivery are initially paid in advance by the Data Coach. Reimbursements for these expenses - including mileage for driving your own car - will be processed 2-3 weeks following submission of the expense reimbursement requests.

Equipment: This position requires reliable home internet that can support video calls on Google Meet and Zoom and a quiet, professional place to deliver remote professional development.

Compensation and Benefits:
The gross salary for this role is an annual salary of $70,000-$77,000. Fixed-term employees are Amplify employees with a defined assignment end date as part of their employment offer. As a fixed-term employee, you will have an opportunity to participate in a broader base of Amplify programs, including our Health and Wellness benefits, 401(K), Paid Time Off and holidays, and Training Opportunities. Time off will be taken in coordination with the district calendar, as much as possible.
